DoorDash has designed a discount membership plan just for students, providing them “access to everything from late night study snacks and grocery items to school supplies and dorm essentials,” Chief Marketing Officer Kofi Amoo-Gottfried said in a release.

Available to undergraduate and graduate students at accredited colleges and universities in the United States, DashPass for Students costs $4.99 per month—half the price of a standard monthly membership—and includes unlimited free deliveries from grocery stores, convenience stores, restaurants and other retailers on eligible orders over the minimum subtotals and 10% off order subtotals year-round from reduced service fees. The membership also features exclusive promotions and menu items.

“Access to convenient, fast and affordable ways to get everything you need is key for busy students on the go,” said Amoo-Gottfried.

According to a survey conducted for DoorDash by Wakefield Research, 70% of college students order food from a third-party delivery platform per week, ordering four times per week on average. When it comes to ordering a grocery haul in preparation for midterms or finals week, chips, chocolate and cookies are the most popular snacks ordered, DoorDash found.

DoorDash, based in San Francisco, also offers an Annual Student Plan, which costs $48 a year.
