Fareway Stores, Inc. hosted a ribbon cutting ceremony on Wednesday for its new location in Bondurant, Iowa. But before the store was even open, the family-owned business with a long-standing history in Iowa was already filling the needs of its shoppers.
“During construction, Fareway began offering online fulfillment orders as they knew that Bondurant has a continued grocery need,” said Mayor Doug Elrod in a statement. “This has been appreciated by many and provides a great example of their commitment to their customers.”
The 15,464-square-foot store is located at 114 Brick Street SE, formerly known as Brick Street Market. The site has been transformed into a Fareway Meat and Grocery.
“A decade ago, Brian and Mary Lohse brought a local grocery store to Bondurant, and we are so excited to continue their efforts as Fareway Meat & Grocery,” said Fareway CEO Reynolds W. Cramer in a statement. “We have been highly anticipating the store opening and look forward to serving area residents and becoming an integral part of the Bondurant community.”
Features at the new store include a full-service butcher counter and grocery essentials. The new store will also include fresh-cut produce, locally sourced items and a variety of craft beer, fine wines and top-shelf spirits.
The location will offer FastLane, a self-service checkout option, online shopping and curbside pickup, available at Shop.Fareway.com. Fareway is offering a promotion now through June 25 for a $5 discount to shoppers on their first online order by using the code, BONFIVE.
The Bondurant store will be managed by Grocery Manager Mike Hochstein and Market Manager Nathan Voshell.
Fareway now operates 136 stores in a seven-state region with over 12,000 total employees.
