North Carolina-based Food Lion has completed the remodel of 20 stores throughout the Carolinas. To celebrate, the Ahold Delhaize banner is hosting a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Wednesday at the remodeled North and South Carolina stores that opened in 2021, the grocery retailer announced.
“From a brand-new look and feel to more convenient grab-and-go items to make any meal easier, each of these stores has made big changes with our customers in mind,” said Meg Ham, Food Lion president, in a statement. “While we have made significant enhancements in these stores since they opened about two years ago, we remain committed to keeping our prices low every day, and also offering great promotions and other opportunities to save. We are excited for our neighbors to experience our low prices and the changes we have made just for them.”
Aside from an updated appearance, the stores will now feature an expanded product assortment and a wider grab-and-go selection.
The stores will also feature items from Nature’s Promise, Food Lion’s “affordable brand of wholesome and organic products.” Over the next few weeks, a specially marked Food Lion RV will visit the remodeled locations handing out Food Lion gift cards, merchandise, food and other items. Customers can see where the RV will be located here.
Last month, the top-performing U.S. banner for Ahold Delhaize opened a new store in Kernersville, North Carolina, at 1014 N. Main St. The Kernersville store replaces the previous location at 617 N. Main St.
Food Lion is Ahold Delhaize’s Salisbury, North Carolina-based banner, which continues to be the company’s strongest U.S. performer, boasting 40 consecutive quarters of positive sales growth, the Dutch retailer reported.
