Food Lion, Ahold Delhaize’s Salisbury, North Carolina-based banner, which continues to be the company’s strongest U.S. performer, boasting 40 consecutive quarters of positive sales growth, opened a new liquor store on Tuesday next to its supermarket in Hopkinsville, Kentucky.

The supermarket, located next door at 4305 Canton Pike, offers one easy-to-shop location for shoppers and is the grocer's third liquor store operating adjacent to a Food Lion and the first in Kentucky.

“I’m excited to open this new store in Hopkinsville and offer our neighbors a wide product assortment at the everyday low prices they expect from Food Lion,” said Don Cole, the Hopkinsville Food Lion Liquor store manager, in a statement. “With this location adjacent to the Hopkinsville Food Lion, we will continue to deliver on our commitment to make grocery shopping easy, convenient and affordable for our customers.”

The store features several spirits distilled locally as well as other regional favorites, Food Lion said.

Last month, Food Lion’s Food Lion To Go grocery pickup service expanded to 27 more stores in Maryland, North Carolina and Virginia. With the addition of these stores, Food Lion To Go is now available at more than 630 stores across its 10-state footprint.

“With some of the busiest months ahead for our customers, we are excited to expand this convenient service to more stores in the Food Lion footprint so our customers can spend more time on what matters most to them,” said Evan Harding, director of digital and e-commerce at Food Lion, in a statement. “With the Food Lion to Go service, we provide our neighbors the option to shop through the channel they prefer, in-store or online, still ensuring they have access to the freshest groceries at affordable prices.”

Food Lion has more than 1,100 stores in 10 southeastern and mid-Atlantic states and employs more than 82,000 associates.
