Giant Eagle printed flyers have returned to mailboxes.

The Pittsburgh-based grocery retailer  relaunched the in-home delivery of its printed weekly circular to its Cleveland-area customers on Tuesday.

In January, the grocery retailer  transitioned away from the direct household delivery of its weekly print ad in the Cleveland area.

The new two-page circular will feature promotions in print as well as via a QR code listing of additional sale items not in the print edition.

The mailed circular will also be available in Pittsburgh on May 2, Giant Eagle said in a statement.

“We are committed to putting our customers at the center of everything we do to ensure we provide what is most important to them, and what they want most right now is high-quality products at a good price,” said Brian Ferrier, SVP of merchandising for Giant Eagle, in a statement. “Our new printed circular will showcase huge savings on some of our most popular items and will provide an opportunity for customers to discover hundreds of additional sale items by scanning the QR code that will be featured on the front page of every circular.”

Grocers have cut back on printed circulars in recent years, given rising paper costs and declining newspaper readership, among other factors.

Earlier this week, Giant Eagle announced its partnership with digital pet pharmacy Allivet.com to make access to pet medications and supplies more accessible for its shoppers.

Powered by Allivet.com, GiantEaglePetRx.com will provide savings on pet healthcare products, delivery, and an AutoShip program offering automatic delivery.

In leadership changes, Giant Eagle last month named Bill Artman interim CEO. Artman succeeds Laura Karet, who helmed the chain for 11 years as part of a nearly 23-year tenure with the grocer.

Giant Eagle's board "determined to separate" Karet "pursuant to her contract," the retailer said in a statement.

Giant Eagle operates more than 470 stores in western Pennsylvania, Ohio, West Virginia, Maryland and Indiana. It posted $11.1 billion in annual revenue in 2022.
