Giant Eagle on Tuesday launched a Visa rewards credit card that offers discounts on fuel as well as rewards on purchases made at the grocer’s stores and other retailers.

The myPerks Pay Rewards Visa Card, operated in conjunction with the First National Bank of Omaha, gives cardholders 5 cents to 30 cents off per gallon when used to purchase fuel at GetGo locations, as well as 2% in rewards perks on purchases made at Giant Eagle, Market District and inside GetGo convenience stores.

Cardholders can also earn 3% in perks value on qualifying dining purchases and 1% in perks value on all other qualifying purchases, the Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania-based retailer said.

The card represents a further evolution of Giant Eagle’s myPerks loyalty program, Janna Jablonowski, a spokesperson for the grocer, said in a statement. The regional grocer debuted the loyalty program three years ago.

“The new myPerks Pay Rewards Visa Card enables customers to earn perks on their everyday purchases to redeem for discounts at Giant Eagle and Market District, and inside GetGo,” Jablonowski said. “We are confident the new myPerks Pay Rewards Visa Card will help customers realize meaningful value as they earn rewards more quickly and become more engaged with the benefits of our myPerks loyalty program.”

Rewards earned are converted to perks, with 50 perks equal to $1 in redemption value.

“FNBO is thrilled to launch this card with Giant Eagle, a company with a remarkable century-long legacy whose core values closely resonate with our own,” First National Bank of Omaha EVP Jerry O’Flanagan said in a statement.

Giant Eagle operates more than 470 food, fuel and pharmacy retail locations across western Pennsylvania, Ohio, West Virginia, Maryland and Indiana.
