Landover, Md.-based Giant Food is looking to put more local products on its shelves by hosting its first Local Vendor Summit, which is scheduled to take place virtually Feb. 3.

“At Giant, we are committed to supporting and celebrating local businesses within the communities we serve through our product assortment, partnerships and community involvement,” said Tonya Herring, SVP of merchandising for Giant Food. “The Local Vendor Summit is the first of many steps that we will take at Giant to better support and highlight the offerings of our local suppliers.”

The retailer said its mission is to expand local supplier partnerships in order to better support its communities.

Local vendors that are interested in having their products in Giant stores and are owned, operated and distributed in Giant Food’s footprint of Washington, D.C, Maryland, Virginia and Delaware may apply by contacting [email protected].

Giant Food, an Ahold Delhaize brand, was founded in 1936 and operates 164 supermarkets in Virginia, Maryland, Delaware and Washington, D.C., with approximately 20,000 associates.
