California-based Grocery Outlet is adding two more stores to its home state.

The fast-growing Emeryville, California-based discount grocer will first open on Thursday in Patterson at 2900 Sperry Avenue.

Located in the heart of the San Joaquin Valley, the new Grocery Outlet brings 35 new jobs to the area and increases Grocery Outlet’s rapidly expanding footprint in California.

Grocery Outlet stores are owned and run by independent retailers based in the communities they serve.

“We are so thrilled to be a part of the Patterson community and provide some relief with big savings on quality groceries,” said Independent Operator Sarah Kumar, who is supported by Frank Quiroga in running the store. “This partnership with Grocery Outlet gives us the ability to grow our business, create new jobs and more importantly, give back to the local community.

Adding another West Coast location to its store portfolio, Grocery Outlet is slated to open in Ceres, California, a suburb of Modesto. The new store’s independent operators will be Roger and Heidi Custer, and it will be located at 1611 E. Hatch Road. According to the grocery retailer’s website, the new store will open Sept. 14.

Grocery Outlet on Tuesday will announce its second quarter financial results after the market closes.

Offering the same brands as traditional grocery stores but at lower prices, Grocery Outlet’s buyers “scour the country to find the top manufacturers with excess inventory and seasonal closeouts so Grocery Outlet can offer ‘wow savings’ on thousands of name-brand products," the company said in a statement.

The extreme-value grocery retailer operates over 440 locations in California, Idaho, New Jersey, Nevada, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Washington and Maryland.
