Grocery Outlet Bargain Market is set to open three new locations on Thursday, including the retailer’s first store in Ohio.
The extreme-value grocery retailer’s new stores will be in Boardman, Ohio, at 317 Boardman Poland Road; Eldersburg, Maryland, at 6300 Georgetown Boulevard; and 770 Mays Boulevard, Suite 2, in Incline Village, Nevada.
Grocery Outlet isn’t the only retailer expanding unit growth in Incline Village. Following years of community requests, neighborhood organic grocer Natural Grocers is slated to open a new store in Incline Village later this year. Located on the East Shore of Lake Tahoe, the independent grocery recently hosted a hiring event. “We are excited to be opening a new store in the picturesque, active city of Incline Village," said Cameron Elder, recruiter for Natural Grocers, in a statement. "We've had community requests to open a store at this location for years.”
Grocery Outlet stores are owned and run by independent retailers based in the communities they serve. This unique business model is one of the many factors helping the retailer achieve record-setting results.
Last week, the California-based retailer reported its third quarter fiscal 2023 results which included the opening of eight new stores, ending the quarter with 455 stores in eight states.
For the quarter ended Sept. 30, Grocery Outlet Holding Corp. held on to its strong results as its third quarter net sales topped $1 billion—but the quarter was not without its challenges.
In August, the discounter implemented new technology platforms, leading to operational disruptions that ate into the grocer's same-store sales and margins.
