Inserra Supermarkets Inc., which owns and operates ShopRites in New Jersey and New York, opened its latest ShopRite location on Friday in Elmwood Park, New Jersey.

The 60,000-square-foot store is located at 180 Broadway and is a state-of-the-art supermarket featuring several Inserra’s signature offerings including a from-scratch bakery and Antoinette's Kitchen, which includes a hot bar and fresh prepared meals, the grocer said. The store will also include Inserra's Patsy’s Butcher meat department.

“We are proud and excited to welcome customers to the ShopRite of Elmwood Park,” said Lawrence Inserra Jr., chairman and CEO of Inserra Supermarkets Inc., in a statement. “It has been an honor to serve New Jersey shoppers since 1954, and this new store, along with our donations to local organizations, demonstrates our commitment to our neighbors. We thank our customers for their patience as we prepared the new store.”

The ShopRite of Elmwood Park also features Fresh to Table, an innovative store-within-a-store concept where customers can find fresh, on-trend foods and easy-to-prepare ingredients in a variety of grab-and-go formats. The multi-purpose space also features items from ShopRite’s Own Brands, including ShopRite’s award-winning Bowl & Basket and Wholesome Pantry lines. Other new features include an updated store design that includes LED lighting and refrigerated cases that are environmentally friendly and energy efficient.

As part of its commitment to the community the grocery retailer presented a $10,000 check to the Community FoodBank of New Jersey. The Inserra family also donated $5,000 in gift cards to the Elmwood Park Food Bank and provided 40 turkeys to St. Leo’s Church in Elmwood Park for their annual Thanksgiving baskets.

Established in 1954 by Patsy Inserra as a privately held family business, Inserra Supermarkets Inc., now operates 23 ShopRite stores and two Price Rite Markeplaces. The grocery retailer is part of the Wakefern Food Corp.
