Natural Grocers moves closer to 170 stores as it readies 45th Colorado location

Colorado-based Natural Grocers, founded nearly seven decades ago, is expanding its store count in the Centennial State, bringing its store count there to 45.

The family-owned retailer will host a grand opening of its new store in Loveland, Colorado, on Nov. 15, after over 10 years of planning the location, the grocery retailer announced on Thursday.

Located at 745 N. Lincoln Avenue, the store is Natural Grocers' 167th overall nationwide.

"We've been serving the people of Colorado since 1955. We look forward to bringing nutritious food to Loveland and its surrounding communities at prices they can afford—one of the main principles Natural Grocers was founded on in 1955 and that we continue to uphold today," said Raquel Isely, vice president of marketing for Natural Grocers, in a statement.

The new store will feature the grocer’s signature combination of organic and natural groceries, body care products and dietary supplements, along with nutritional health resources. Grand opening festivities will include 25% off the entire store for three days, beginning Nov. 15. Located on Colorado’s Front Range, “folks here are interested in where their food comes from and are familiar with the process,” Isely added.

Built on the premise that shoppers should have access to affordable, high-quality foods and dietary supplements, Natural Grocers is continuing to expand its retail footprint. Last week, it celebrated the opening of its fifth location in Washington, a state it has had a presence in since 2014 when the grocery retailer came to Vancouver.

Natural Grocers is expanding further in Colorado. According to the grocery retailer’s website, a new store is coming to Gunnison, which is located in the west-central part of the state. No opening details were provided.

Natural Grocers by Vitamin Cottage Inc. operates in 21 states.
