Pro Food Systems (PFSbrands), a foodservice company with such popular brands as Champs Chicken and BluTaco, plans to acquire Show Me Oil Co., which operates a convenience store and eight grocery stores in Missouri as Moser’s Foods (Moser’s).

Missouri-based PFSbrands said the acquisition is expected to close in March 2025.

Plans call for Moser’s, a middle-Missouri, family-owned grocery chain, to remain under local ownership while continuing to operate under its brand.

Looking to expand PFSBrands into the grocery business, Shawn Burcham, founder and CEO of PFSbrands said in a statement that “today marks a momentous occasion for PFSbrands as we begin making plans to welcome the entire Moser's team into our thriving environment.”

Steve Black, who joined the PFSbrands team as chief operating officer in August of this year, is slated to be responsible for the company’s new retail division, according to the company.

PFSbrands also announced that Clint Adams will join the company as senior vice president of retail store operations in February and, once the acquisition is completed, will assume the position of president of the retail division within PFSbrands.

Adams has an extensive background in the grocery business, most recently serving as regional VP of operations for an independent grocery retailer in the Gulf Coast region.

“My role in this transition is to ensure that Moser's not only retains its unique identity but also thrives under the expanded capabilities and resources of PFSbrands,” Adams said in a statement. “I look forward to leveraging my experience in the grocery sector to drive this vision forward, enhancing our service offerings and deepening our community connections.”
