As Publix Super Markets edges closer to its long-awaited store opening in Louisville, Kentucky, the Florida-based grocery retailer is expanding store growth in other states as well, according to the grocery retailer's website.
Publix will open a new store in Maryville, Tennessee, at 198 Foothills Mall. The 48,387-square-foot store in Blount County will open Oct. 25.
Turning to its home state, Publix next month will open two new stores in Florida, including one in Lakeland, where Publix has its headquarters. The 54,964-square-foot store, which is larger than the other up-and-coming new stores, will open Nov. 9, and will be located at 3636 Harden Blvd., in Polk County. The other Florida store slated to open Nov. 2 will be in Tampa’s suburb of Spring Hill. The 46,791-square-foot store will be located at 1400 Pinehurst Drive in the Hernando West Plaza.
Shoppers in the Carolinas will also soon see a new store in their states. Publix will open on Nov. 1 a new store in Greenville, South Carolina, at University Square and on Nov. 15, the employee-owned retailer will open in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, at 5525 Robin Lark Circle. Both new stores in the Carolinas will be 48,387 square feet.
Kentucky is the eighth state for the fast-growing Florida retailer's portfolio and is a market dominated by long-established retailers Kroger and Walmart. The Florida-based grocery retailer launched Hello, Kentucky website earlier this year for those interested in staying up to date with the details of the highly anticipated 55,701-square-foot store in the Terra Crossing Shopping Center in Louisville that's slated to open later this year.
