Publix Super Markets on Monday announced more changes to its leadership lineup, following the announcement Monday of President Kevin Murphy being elevated to chief executive officer and SVP John Goff being promoted to president. The latest promotions will be effective Jan. 1.
VP of Product Business Development for Grocery Norman Badger will be promoted to SVP of retail operations. Badger joined Publix in 1995 as a front service clerk in Aiken, South Carolina, and has since held numerous roles with increasing responsibilities.
He also announced that Business Development Director of Alcoholic Beverages Chris Shaw will be promoted to VP of product business development for grocery. Shaw has been with the company since 1990.
Looking to enhance its ability to support the retailer’s operations, the employee-owned grocer is adding another officer promotion. Director of Facility Refrigeration and Energy Management Mikhael Ser will be promoted to VP of facilities. In his new role, he will oversee facilities services, maintenance and support. Ser joined the company in 2013 as manager of construction.
“We are excited for Norman, Chris and Mikhael to take the next step in their Publix careers,” said Publix President Kevin Murphy in a statement. “Preparing associates for opportunity is part of our culture, and we look forward to seeing what they will accomplish in their new roles.”
