Chelsea Minor has been appointed vice president of community impact and public affairs at The Raley’s Companies.

With the promotion, announced Monday, Minor will oversee public relations, governmental affairs, communications, community impact and sustainability efforts across The Raley’s Companies’ market areas in California, Nevada, Arizona, New Mexico and four Tribal Nations, encompassing the Raley’s and Bashas’ divisions.

“I am honored to serve as an executive leader for The Raley’s Companies,” Minor said in a statement. “The organization has become a regional grocery powerhouse in the West, and I am excited to continue to advance our brands and vision in the communities we serve.”

The West Sacramento, California-based grocer noted that Minor has played a key role in facilitating the organization’s growth amid several acquisitions, including the December 2021 purchase of The Bashas’ Family of Stores, which led to the formation of The Raley’s Companies. She serves as a Shared Service leader, developing and executing consumer, public affairs and brand reputation strategies across the enterprise.

Previously, Minor was executive director of community impact and public affairs for Raley’s, a role she has held since September.

“Chelsea is an outstanding contributor and thought leader as well as a trusted advisor,” Raley’s Companies President and CEO Keith Knopf stated. “Her knowledge and expertise have greatly contributed to our success and growth since joining. Chelsea makes important things happen, both in the company and in the communities in which we do business. I am grateful for her dedication and leadership.”

Minor joined Raley’s in February 2015 as director of public relations and public affairs. She was named as corporate director of consumer and public affairs in July 2018 and then as corporate director of public affairs in January 2020, before assuming the executive director post over two years later.

In partnership with Julie Teel, a Raley’s Companies board member and a member of the Raley’s supermarket chain’s founding family, Minor also runs the Raley’s Food for Families charitable foundation and chairs the California Retailers Association.

Before coming to Raley’s, Minor worked in public relations at KP Public Affairs, supporting California companies with public affairs and PR services. Prior to that, she spent nearly two years as a legislative assistant in the California State Assembly after a one-year stint as an Assembly fellow.

Overall, The Raley’s Cos. has more than 21,000 employees and operates a retail network of more than 235 stores in California, Arizona, Nevada and New Mexico, including the Raley’s division banners of Raley’s, Bel Air Markets, Nob Hill Foods, Raley’s O-N-E Market, Food Source and Sak ’N Save and the Bashas’ division banners of Bashas’, Bashas’ Diné, Food City, AJ’s Fine Foods and Eddie’s Country Store.
