In an effort to streamline the shopping experience, Schnuck Markets is bringing curbside and delivery ordering to its Schnucks Rewards app through a partnership with Instacart, the St. Louis-based retailer announced May 4. Previously, customers were redirected outside the app to place a Schnucks Delivers or Curbside Pickup order.

“By adding additional e-commerce options in the Schnucks Rewards app, we are creating a more streamlined customer experience,” said Chace MacMullan, senior director of digital experience for Schnucks. “We continue to develop and implement app features that allow customers to interact with Schnucks digitally in our stores and at home.”

Other new app features include numerous ways to search for items (for example, by category, past purchases and personalized savings), and customers can now get discounts that were previously only available at the store, such as digital coupons and savings on wine for Schnucks Wine Club members.

Also earlier this year, Schnucks brought party planning order ahead to its app and its website for pickup at 59 store locations across the Midwest

Schnucks Rewards customers will earn rewards points on every curbside and delivery order just as they would when shopping in-store. Additionally, for a limited time, Schnucks is offering customers free delivery on orders of $35 or more. (Curbside pickup is always free on orders of $35 or more, Schnucks noted.)

Current Instacart Express members can receive discounts on service and delivery fees by linking their Instacart account in the Schnucks Rewards app via the “Account Settings” menu. Customers will still be able to communicate with Instacart shoppers during the shopper's trip through the store to confirm replacement selections or to add items that were forgotten.

Schnuck Markets is a third and fourth generation, family-owned grocery retailer with 112 stores in Missouri, Illinois, Indiana and Wisconsin. It has about 12,000 employees. It’s 112th store opened recently in Columbia, Mo.
