Try it, and don’t like it? Southeastern Grocers has you covered. The Jacksonville, Fla.-based grocer is offering a money-back guarantee on more than 8,000 private label products, including its SE Grocers, Prestige, Essentials and Naturally Better lines.

With prices rising each month as COVID-19 continues to affect supply and demand, the “Try It, Love It, or Your Money Back” campaign would provide an incentive for customers to try private-label products as they look for ways to save money while also receiving quality products, the grocer said in a release.

In a recent survey, IRI found that 56% of primary grocery shoppers were somewhat concerned about food-cost inflation, while 28% said they were very concerned.

“Our associates and customers are at the focus of everything we do, which is why we continuously work to improve our offerings to provide the highest quality products at a great price,” said Gayle Shields, VP of pharmacy and own brand. “With more than 8,000 products available through our SE Grocers, Prestige, Essentials and Naturally Better product lines, we encourage our customers to try it, love it or get your money back.”

To provide customers with an additional incentive to try SE Grocers products—which 99% of customers perceive are equal to or better than similar products from national brands, according to the grocer’s recent consumer survey—and to encourage a healthy start to the school year while giving back to the local community, Southeastern Grocers in August will match each purchase of SE Grocers cereal with a donation of SE Grocers cereal to local Feeding America partner food banks (up to $50,000).

In addition to pantry staples such as cereal, the SE Grocers brand includes products such as paper towels, chips, cookies and baby food. SE Grocers also offers customers savings on indulgent original-recipe products under the SE Grocers Prestige label, with products such as SE Grocers Prestige Raspberry Dark Chocolate Ice Cream, SE Grocers Apple Caramel Drizzle Pie and SE Grocers Naturally Better Organic Strawberry Preserves.

Twinn Week

The retailer this week is also promoting value through its Winn-Dixie stores’ “Twinn Week,” celebration, the grocer’s official holiday of buy one, get one deals. More than 1,000 items, including many SE Grocers products, will be part of the BOGO event, and customers are encouraged to donate their free item to the store’s local food bank partner to help their community.

Southeastern Grocers, parent company and home of Fresco y Mas, Harveys Supermarket and Winn-Dixie grocery stores, is one of the largest conventional supermarket companies in the U.S. Its grocery stores, liquor stores and in-store pharmacies serve communities throughout five southeastern states Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana and Mississippi.
