Stater Bros. Markets of San Bernardino, Calif., is marking the 40th anniversary of its Big Bear, Calif., location with a new look for the store’s exterior and a host of revamped features in-store. Located at 42171 Big Bear Blvd., the store features a full-service deli and hot bakery, as well as expanded meat and seafood departments.

The Big Bear Stater Bros. store has doubled down on fresh. Its full-service deli includes Cleo & Leo hand-breaded fried chicken, specialty sandwiches and wraps, taco and burrito combo meals and a full line of prepared party trays. In the hot bakery, shoppers can choose from a full selection of artisan breads, rolls and fresh pastries. In-house decorators are available to assist with special occasion needs.

An expanded full-service meat case has been upgraded with technology designed to keep product at its freshest, the company said. And an enhanced produce department features expanded organic selections and a fresh-cut fruit station. But the focus on fresh doesn’t end there. The revamped store also offers handcrafted sushi made in-house daily.

Other enhanced selections include an expanded beer, wine and liquor department featuring a wider selection of wines, spirits and “the coldest beer in town,” according to the company.

Stater Bros. also widened the aisles in the Big Bear store and added solar panels and energy-efficient LED lighting to the location.

The Big Bear Stater Bros. is led by Store Manager Rick Jaeger, a longtime Big Bear resident who also celebrated his 40-year anniversary with the company this year.

“Big Bear is a tight-knit community so when we are serving our customers, we are serving our friends, family and neighbors. Stater Bros. is truly a part of this community and I’m thrilled that I have been able to be here for all 40 years,” said Jaeger.

In honor of the anniversary celebration, store employees handed out flowers to the customers and Stater Bros. Charities presented a $4,000 donation to The Lighthouse Project Inc. to support Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library, a book gifting program that provides free, high-quality books to children.
