In short order, same-day grocery delivery service at The Fresh Market has expanded from one option to three.

The Greensboro, North Carolina-based specialty grocer said Thursday that on-demand delivery is now available at all of its 161 stores in 22 states through the DoorDash online marketplace.

With the launch, The Fresh Market customers can order fresh foods and groceries as well as dinner-on-the-go, weekly meals and prepared foods for special occasions via the DoorDash website or mobile app. The fresh, natural and organic grocer noted that its DoorDash debut is well-timed, coming just ahead of the holiday shopping season, the chain’s busiest time of year.

“It’s exciting to bring our guests another way to shop our stores that fits their daily lifestyle needs,” Kevin Miller, chief marketing officer at The Fresh Market, said in a statement. “Being able to find The Fresh Market on the DoorDash Marketplace and place an order for delivery will help our guests’ holiday shopping needs, solve ‘what’s for dinner tonight’ on a busy day, or everyday if they prefer or need the convenience of delivery.”

The DoorDash partnership comes nearly a month after The Fresh Market rolled out same-day delivery via Uber Eats to all stores. Previously, the retailer offered on-demand grocery delivery only with Instacart, through a partnership formed in 2018 and then a chainwide rollout by mid-2019 following a six-month pilot. The Fresh Market also offers curbside pickup chainwide.

In support of The Fresh Market’s launch with DoorDash, customers will get $20 off delivery orders of $60 or more through Dec. 31. All of The Fresh Market’s locations also will be available on DoorDash’s DashPass membership program, which provides no-free grocery delivery for orders of $35 or more.

“We couldn’t be more excited to partner with The Fresh Market ahead of the busy holiday season to offer their leading fresh selection to new and loyal customers with stress free on-demand delivery,” commented Fuad Hannon, vice president of new verticals at San Francisco-based DoorDash. “The Fresh Market is a welcome addition to the 100,000-plus non-restaurant stores on our Marketplace and Drive platforms in North America, bringing top-notch selection and continued convenience to consumers.”
