Bolthouse Farms has debuted 1915 Smoothies, made with organic pureed fruits and veggies and cold-pressed juice. The cold-pressed Smoothie line, inspired by consumers growing interest in more affordable and convenient organic and nutritious beverage options, will launch in two flavors: Pear and Mango. With green varietals the most preferred flavor in the category and mango a close second, the 1915 Smoothies are well-positioned to quench the thirst of the growing segment through on-trend organic ingredients, say company officials. The Smoothies join the existing 1915 family of cold-pressed fruit and vegetable juices that includes flavors like Romaine, Beet, Pineapple, Blueberry, Grapefruit and Strawberry.
“Smoothies represent the largest segment in the premium beverage category, with green varietals driving $170MM annually in sales, but there are few offerings on the ultra-premium side,” says Bill Lange, vice president of marketing, Bolthouse Farms. “The 1915 Pear and Mango Smoothies provide consumers with a delicious and nutritious option that delivers on consumers growing preferences for simpler nutrition labels and on-trend organic ingredients.”
With no more than six ingredients per bottle, the 1915 organic cold-pressed smoothies include colorful, nutrient-rich fruits and vegetables with no added sugar or artificial sweeteners. The smoothies, available on-shelf mid-October 2016 at retailers nationwide, include: 1915 Pear with spinach, coconut water, mango, and banana; and 1915 Mango with coconut water, peach, orange, and banana.
Packaged in 12-ounce non BPA bottles with a suggested retail price of $3.99, each 1915 cold-pressed, ultra-premium beverage is USDA certified organic and made with non-GMO ingredients.
