Not only did his idea win “Best Idea,” it become the next product featured by 5 Generation Bakers. Available this fall, Rum Raisin Holiday Bread is described by the company as a 'golden delicious twist on the company’s classic line of cinnamon swirl breads with a hint of spiced rum.' Company officials describe the baking process: Golden California raisins are soaked in spiced rum before being added to the all-natural dough. After fermentation, the traditional straight dough is sheeted and dusted with a layer of cinnamon filling and rolled to create the signature swirl and baked in crimped pans. Once cooled, the loaves are bathed in a blend of butter and more rum, and then tossed in cinnamon sugar. The finished loaves are sliced and sleeve-packed before freezing for distribution. The loaves have a suggested retail price of $3.99 - $4.99.
