Jacob will now go on to represent Brookshire’s and the state of Texas by competing in the Society of American Florist’s Sylvia Cup — the nation’s longest-running live floral design competition — during the association’s convention in Rancho Mirage, Calif., in September.

In addition to the Texas Cup trophy, Jacob received a $500 award. Telaflora will sponsor her trip to the convention and competition in California.

“We are very proud of Shellie’s win,” Fresh Floral Manager Angie Hall said in a release. Regarding the new Fresh concept store, which Brookshire’s opened here in February, Hall added, “our neighbors in Tyler are discovering that Fresh offers the best of virtually everything, from the produce to the chef prepared foods to the butcher and seafood markets, and now the state knows we have the best florists as well.”
