Chicken of the Sea Launches Three Flavored Salmon Pouches

Chicken of the Sea is launching a line of flavored salmon pouches. The line is part of an ongoing transformation of the iconic, 100-year-old brand from a provider of affordable protein to a leading culinary innovator offering new products, recipes and meal-planning insights needed to empower seafood fans to reach greater in-kitchen creativity and inspiration, say company officials. They are available now at Walmart stores nationwide, followed by rollout to other national retailers in the Spring of 2015. The company describes the pouches as follows: • Chicken of the Sea Lemon Pepper Flavored Salmon Pouch - Premium, wild-caught Chicken of the Sea Pink Salmon seasoned with zesty lemon pepper in a 2.5-ounce pouch. • Chicken of the Sea Barbecue Flavored Salmon Pouch - Premium wild-caught Chicken of the Sea Pink Salmon mixed with a tangy barbecue seasoning in a 2.5-ounce pouch. • Chicken of the Sea Sweet & Spicy Flavored Salmon Pouch - Premium wild-caught Chicken of the Sea Pink Salmon combined with the perfect combination of sweet and spicy seasonings in a 2.5-ounce pouch. “As the recognized salmon leader, Chicken of the Sea enjoys an 81 percent dollar share of the pouched salmon segment plus unrivaled brand equity – and it is this experience level that made creation of the industry’s first pouched flavored salmon line possible,” says Erin Mrozek, Chicken of the Sea’s director of marketing. “While most Americans know us for our tuna, we were the first to introduce skinless and boneless salmon in 1984, and have been strong supporters of the health, convenience, versatility and recipe-development benefits of pouched salmon ever since.” Additional Chicken of the Sea Flavored Salmon Pouch SKUs are being considered for the future.
