Del Monte Goes Bananas for Charity Events

1 Min Read

Participants in the Miami Paddle Challenge held at Matheson Hammock Park were in for a unique surprise when they were joined by five giant paddling Del Monte bananas. The five paddle boarding bananas finished the three mile race along with canoes, paddle boards, kayaks and other vessels. All proceeds from the Miami Paddle Challenge were donated to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. This was one of two community events Del Monte Fresh Produce' brand ambassadors participated in last month. Brand ambassadors also distributed healthy snacks to runners participating in the 2nd Annual Miami Children’s Hospital 5K race held at Coral Gables City Hall. The two brand ambassadors, wearing Del Monte banana costumes provided attendees with a variety of humorous photo ops. Both were hosted by Miami Children’s Hospital and other partners including Publix, Hyundai and Total Bank last month. “We were happy to support these two worthwhile events with a small healthy token of appreciation to all those participants who raised funds for such an important institution in our community,” says Dennis Christou, Del Monte Fresh Produce vice president of North America Marketing.
