The awards cover products, promotions and programs completed between January 2012 and December 2013. Dole received this award for the design of its new line of organic salads, which was introduced in 2013 and is being rolled-out nationally this year. The clear, resealable clamshell design features bold visuals and essential product information, which allow Dole to easily communicate its promise of product freshness and quality. “We are excited that Dole’s packaging design has been recognized by the experts,” says Chris Mayhew, vice president of marketing for Dole Fresh Vegetables. “This award validates our strategy of using innovate packaging technology in combination with a consumer-first mindset to reinvent the prepackaged salad category and create a meaningful one-on-one experience with our customers.”
