Fowler Farms apples are a perfect match for the eat brighter! movement, say company officials. We are proudly supporting this program as it will help get healthy apples on more plates and in more lunchboxes, says Jennifer Sutton, sales for Fowler Farms, which will continue to roll out their ‘eat brighter!’ go-to-market strategy to its customer base through 2016. “We’re thrilled to see the work that Fowler Farms, an early adopter of the ‘eat brighter!’ program, will begin to roll out in retail and reach consumers,” says Cathy Burns, PMA president. “Their commitment to changing the conversation of marketing fresh produce is inspiring. We all want to see children and their families eat more fresh fruits and vegetables, and Fowler Farms is working to make that happen.” Fowler Farms is a 6th generation family business that has been growing apples in the Wolcott, N.Y. area since 1858. As a vertically integrated company Fowler Farms controls everything from the nursery rootstock to the final orchard planting of about 2200 trees per acre. Operations include apple production, storage, pre sizing, packing, shipping and marketing throughout the USA. Fresh apple cider is an additional product line and allows us to market a premium blend of seven varieties as well as single variety cider for SweeTango and Honeycrisp.
