Giant Food Stores Taps Bell & Evans to Expand Organic Offerings

Giant Food Stores is adding organic chicken products from Bell & Evans into 26 of its stores in the Harrisburg, Lancaster and York, Pa., markets. 

Dave Lessard, VP of category management for Giant, said the new partnership provides an opportunity for the retailer to expand its organic chicken offerings as demand rises for meat raised without antibiotics and additives. 

“Not only is Bell & Evans a leader in organic poultry, like Giant, the company is also proud to call central Pennsylvania home, and as a longtime supporter of Pennsylvania’s agriculture industry, we couldn’t be more excited to offer their chicken to our customers," Lessard said.

Bell & Evans Owner Scott Sechler Sr. said that with more and more consumers wanting to shop local but also expecting premium quality, "Giant's commitment to meet those demands with Bell & Evans chicken is a natural fit." 

Organic Bell & Evans chicken products now available at Giant include boneless breasts, tenders, boneless thighs, regular thighs, wings, split breasts, legs, livers and whole birds.

Also, all 180 Giant and Martin's Food Markets stores will now carry a frozen line of Bell & Evans breaded chicken tenders, nuggets and other offerings.
