Hummus Plus Chicken has launched 4-ounce snack packs, which combines hummus and fresh chicken to provide nutritional benefits including high protein and fiber with no artificial flavors or colors. Whether packed for a game, picnic, school lunch, work or other activity, this snack also delivers a savory taste.

Introduced in mid-April and now available to retailers and deli operators across the U.S., the 4-ounce package is an extension to the Hummus Plus portfolio that already includes larger 6-ounce and 8-ounce packages. The snack packs provide up to 14-grams of protein and 6-grams of fiber and feature a built-in utensil and napkin for easy consumption on the go. The snack-size Hummus Plus Chicken line includes three varieties: Traditional Hummus Oven-Roasted Chicken Breast; Roasted Red Pepper Hummus BBQ Seasoned Chicken Breast; and Garlic Hummus Garlic Herb Chicken Breast.

“Snacking continues to be a megatrend in the U.S., with consumers looking for smaller portions in on-the-go packaging. At the same time, there is ongoing interest in better-for-you snacks that are high in protein. The new Hummus Plus snack-size package delivers on many fronts, with portability, nutrition and convenience,” says David Gacom, vice president, sales and marketing for Hummus Plus, LLC, a Pure Mediterranean Foods Company. “This format truly revolutionizes hummus snacking, and is a fresh alternative to the hummus and pretzel packs currently in the market.”

The 4-ounce Hummus Plus Chicken snack packs offer other benefits, for both consumers and retailers. The product has a 75-day production shelf life for optimal merchandising in store, including the in-store deli, and in the consumer’s home refrigerator. Its convenient size also enables it to be sold inside a grab-and-go case alongside other ready-to-eat snacks as well as in the traditional refrigerated snack section in supermarkets, convenience stores, drug stores, mass merchandisers and other retail outlets that sell refrigerated snacks.
