Blue Apron Holdings is teaming up with Jet's new urban City Grocery rebrand in the meal kit delivery service's first partnership with an e-tailer.
An assortment of Blue Apron meal kits will now be available for next-day delivery through City Grocery, a Walmart Inc.-driven rebrand catering to metropolitan customers and currently available in New York City, Jersey City and Hoboken, N.J.
Jet's City Grocery experience offers most New York City-area consumers a three-hour scheduled delivery window for groceries and other merchandise, and it will now feature a rotating selection of two-serving recipes specifically designed by Blue Apron for its customer base.
Brad Dickerson, Blue Apron CEO, said the partnership will help Blue Apron "dynamically" cater to the lifestyles of metropolitan consumers, who he said will now be able to fill up their digital shopping carts with ready-to-cook meals while shopping for other everyday needs.
"This exciting launch is another step forward in our channel expansion strategy and reflects the strength of the capabilities we are developing to readily support a variety of opportunities to broaden our access to consumers," he said.
Jet President Simon Belsham added that a "crucial" part of Jet's strategy is to " provide valuable services that seamlessly integrate into people’s daily lives," and the new partnership with Blue Apron is a good example of this mission.
The first Blue Apron meals that will be offered on Jet.com at two servings each are:
Seared Steaks & Peperonata with Fregola Sarda Pasta & Grana Padano Cheese: $22.99
Dukkah-Spiced Beef & Couscous with Tahini-Dressed Broccoli: $20.99
Togarashi Popcorn Chicken with Sweet Chili Slaw & Jasmine Rice: $18.99
