Montchevre has debuted non-GMO 4-ounce Fresh Goat Cheese Logs. The only non-GMO goat cheese certified by the National Science Foundation (NSF), according to company officials, is now available nationwide.

Family owned and operated Montchevre has been producing goat cheese for more than 25 years. Currently sourcing milk from 350-plus independent family farms, Montchevre’s product line consists of 50-plus goat cheese varieties. Now, Montchevre’s best-selling item, the 4-ounce Fresh Goat Cheese Log, is NSF Non-GMO True North Certified in all 13 flavors.

Remaining true to its establishing principles, co-founder Arnaud Solandt first investigated converting to non-GMO three years ago, excited by the prospect and determined to introduce the methods to Montchevre.

“The practice of producing non-GMO goat cheese fits our commitment to making high quality product by using high quality ingredients,” says Solandt. “We believe that using traditional farming methods, preserving the integrity of the seeds, and reducing the use of pesticides and herbicides is not only important to our environment, but our customers, farmers and goats as well.”

A large group of independent family operated farms, enthusiastic to embrace non-GMO farming, worked alongside Montchevre and NSF to achieve this non-GMO certification. Throughout this process, Montchevre opened a lab in Kalona, Iowa, to analyze crops, hay and feed for its goat milk producers. The milk produced from these farms is solely used to make Montchevre’s non-GMO 4-ounce Fresh Goat Cheese Logs.

Montchevre plans to transition additional farms to non-GMO, eventually becoming a fully non-GMO goat cheese company.

The Non-GMO 4-ounce Fresh Goat Cheese Log have a suggested retail price of $4.99 and are available in the following flavors: Natural, Garlic & Herbs, Four Pepper, Honey, Cranberry & Cinnamon, Blueberry & Vanilla, Jalapeño, Lemon Zest, Fig & Olive, Peppadew, Pumpkin, Truffle and Sundried Tomato & Basil.
