Pederson’s Natural Farms has added unsweetened bacon to its product line-up. The Uncured No Sugar Hickory Smoked Bacon was developed to keep up with nutritional trends and the dietary needs of consumers. The company’s officials wanted to introduce an option for consumer following a paleo diet. “Our consumers have been asking for bacon for a long time,” says Scott Cooney, vice president of operations for the Hamilton, Texas-based company. “With the increased popularity of eating paleo, folks need a bacon that complies with the paleo diet. “We recognized a gaping hole in the market when it comes to bacon that contains absolutely no sweeteners, natural or artificial, in the ingredients list.
