Schwegmann offered the best prices when Brand Marketing checked three supermarkets for branded frozen pizza: Kraft Foods' Tombstone, the national leader, was 2 for $5, and Totino's Party from Pillsbury was 3 for $4. Prices at A&P's Sav-A-Center were the highest for all three brands checked. Red Baron, second in market share in the U.S., ranks fifth in New Orleans with 9.5%. Tony's is third nationally (8.7%) and fourth locally (9.7%). Although it trails in sixth place around the country, store brand pizza rules the Bayou, on the strength of Schwegmann's entry.
