What’s the best part of your job?
No doubt about it, the people. I’ve had the absolute privilege to build out our functional team, which is an integral part in making the company successful. I’m humbled to work alongside some of the best in the industry, and more importantly, lucky that my relationships have developed personally as well as professionally.
What inspires your leadership approach?
At the end of the day, we don’t have to draw lines between personal and professional life. In order to break down those barriers, make work fun by not always having to worry about spreadsheets and numbers. What I’ve realized is that happy and comfortable employees are more productive, so integrating fun aspects into work is beneficial. If they can contribute more while being happier, it’s a win-win.
What do you cherish most about being a part of the industry?
My experiences within CPG, and more importantly e-commerce, have allowed me to be uncomfortable, because I or no one else has the answers. In many ways, we’re all on a level playing field and all of us need to learn. The fear of being second to someone is something that I’ve never even thought about. Early in my career, it wasn’t always the case. I’m not a great test taker or read-the-book learner; my career path has allowed me to learn in a way that is comfortable to me.
