Mars Chocolate North America has unveiled a new commercial for M&M'S Chocolate Candies featuring M&M'S characters together with favorite X-Men characters. The commercial release is timed with the highly anticipated 20th Century Fox's motion picture event X-Men: Apocalypse, which premieres May 27.

"M&M'S has been enhancing the experience of moviegoers for 75 years, and we are really excited at the opportunity to shift from movie seats to movie scenes to help promote the upcoming feature film," says Tanya Berman, director of M&M'S Brand. "X-Men is one of the most popular franchises in movie history and together we hope to make the experience even more fun for movie lovers."

A storm's a brewin' at the X-Mansion, and the M&M'S are at the heart of it. That's the plot of the new commercial Rainy Day. Red and Yellow find themselves at the mercy of two X-Men who have a shared weakness: candy-coated chocolate. Additionally, a full-page print ad features the common struggle felt between both the M&M'S and X-Men characters, which will continue to generate excitement for the upcoming movie release.

M&M'S has also introduced X-Men-themed merchandise bottles featuring eight X-Men M&M'S character images. The new bottles will be available in early May at Walmart, Kroger, CVS and movie cinemas across the United States.

"M&M'S has been a staple of the movie going experience for decades," says Zachary Eller, senior vice president, marketing partnerships at 20th Century Fox. "We knew pairing up the X-Men characters with hilarious Yellow and Red, would result in commercial creative campaign all fans would enjoy."
