Minute Rice Launches 'Rice to the Occasion' Recipe Contest

Through September 5, Minute Rice is hosting the "Rice to the Occasion" Recipe Contest. The contest, as seen in the August issue of Food Network Magazine, invites home cooks to enter their favorite quick-cooking recipe using any Minute Instant Rice product for a chance to win a High Performance Blender, a year's supply of Minute Rice, and a chance to be featured in Food Network Magazine. Entrants can submit recipes at here.

"A variety of recipes for any meal of the day can be created using Minute Instant White Rice, Whole Grain Brown Rice or Multi-Grain Medley as an ingredient. Consumers using Minute Rice can really get creative," says Paul Galvani, Senior Vice President of Marketing, Riviana Foods Inc., the makers of Minute Rice. "We're excited to see what breakfast, lunch, dinner, snack and even dessert recipes people submit."

The recipe submissions, which will be judged by Johanna Mirprui, blogger and food personality of Momma Cuisine, and the Minute Rice test kitchen team, will be scored on simplicity, creativity and originality, appearance and overall taste and flavor. One Grand Prize winner will receive a High Performance Blender and a year's supply of Minute Rice. Additionally, the winning recipe may be featured in Food Network Magazine. One Runner-Up will receive one $250 e-commerce gift card, and one second Runner-Up will receive one $100 e-commerce gift card.

 Valid entries have been accepted since 12:01 a.m. Eastern Time on August 2, 2016, and will continue to be accepted until 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time on September 5, 2016.
