Through Pasta for Good, the manufacturer of San Giorgio pasta, is asking people to share photos of their pasta mealtime moments to trigger a donation of up to 25,000 boxes of pasta to non-profit organizations dedicated to serving those in need across Maryland, Pennsylvania and Washington, D.C.

Through Jan. 15, people can participate in the Pasta for Good campaign by taking a photo of their favorite pasta mealtime moment— whether they are dining out, sitting around their own dining room table or at a friend’s house—and share it on the San Giorgio Pasta Facebook page using the hashtag #PastaForGood. For every qualifying photo, New World Pasta will donate one pasta box to a local food bank.

“These communities have been supporting our brand for more than 100 years and we continually try to find ways to give back to them,” says Paul Galvani, senior vice president of marketing. “Through this photo sharing campaign, we hope friends and families will take a moment to celebrate and share a moment they’ve spent with loved ones over a pasta meal to help provide food to those in need.”

This season, the New World Pasta Company’s San Giorgio pasta brand has partnered with five non-profit food banks throughout the mid-Atlantic region that will benefit from the Pasta for Good campaign. Partners include:

  • Maryland Food Bank in Baltimore

  • Central Pennsylvania Food Bank in Harrisburg, Pa.

  • Philabundance in Philadelphia

  • Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank in Pittsburgh

  • Capital Area Food Bank in Washington, D.C.

New World Pasta Company will work to deliver donations of up to 5,000 boxes of pasta to each non-profit organization, for a total donation of up to 25,000 boxes.
