Food Lion to Help Offset Gas Prices

SALISBURY, N.C. — Food Lion here will kick off a “Gas Guzzler Giveaway” next month to help relieve financial pain at the pump while motivating shoppers to sign up for its e-newsletter. “While gas prices continue to rise, your neighborhood Food Lion keeps prices low to help make your grocery dollar go farther,” Food Lion says in promotional materials. Food Lion will give away $50 Visa gift cards each week to 10 subscribers to its Shoppers’ Companion weekly email newsletter, delivered each Wednesday morning. Winners will be selected at random. Drawings will be held each Thursday from July 3 through September 4. Participants can enter by opening the e-newsletter and clicking on the Gas Guzzler sweepstakes logo.
