PITTSBURGH — Giant Eagle is getting shopper input about the benefits of online shopping.

A Zoomerang survey on the home page at gianteagle.com asks users a variety of questions about the subject, including if they’ve ever made a purchase over the Internet. The survey are also asked for the reasons they use the Internet for making a purchase and to rate the importance of various benefits of shopping online, including “ease of making an online purchase,” “value of discounts” and “selection of products.”

Giant Eagle currently does not offer online shopping for items stocked in its stores. It does, however, have a service that lets customers shop online for hard-to-find specialty goods.

And late last year, it launched a new online service called fuelperksMall.com, which lets shoppers earn credits in Giant Eagle's fuelperks! program by shopping online with over 600 retailers.
