Giant Food has entered into a multi-year partnership with Monumental Sports & Entertainment to become the exclusive grocery partner of the Washington Capitals, Mystics, Wizards and Verizon Center.

“Giant Food is delighted to partner with Monumental Sports as a legacy partner,” said Gordon Reid, president, Giant Food of Landover, Md., in a statement. “Monumental Sports has a long history of providing the Washington, D.C., area with events that bring friends and families together, a value we share.”

Verizon Center hosts over 220 events annually, including a variety of family shows. With Giant’s partnership, they will become the presenting partner for Verizon Center’s Family Show series.

Giant Food will also be the presenting partner of the Capitals and Wizards Kids Clubs, and part of special Kids Clubs events such as skills clinics and meet and greets. They will also be part of the Kids Clubs’ contests and members’ monthly newsletters.

“We are excited to sign Giant Food as our exclusive grocery partner,” said Patrick Duffy, SVP of corporate partnerships for Monumental Sports & Entertainment, in a statement. “Their commitment to the community, and being deeply rooted in D.C. in particular, allows for an engaging Legacy Partnership for years to come.”
