Harris Teeter doubles down on fuel point rewards
Promotion lends hand to shoppers amid elevated gasoline prices
March 25, 2022
As customers grapple with inflated gas prices, Harris Teeter has kicked off a promotion offering double fuel points for members of its e-VIC (Very Important Customer) digital savings program.
Called 2X Fuel Points, the promo enables e-VIC members who download the digital coupon to save 10 cents per gallon on fuel purchases at Harris Teeter Fuel Centers and participating BP and Amoco stations for every 100 fuel points earned, Matthews, N.C.-based Harris Teeter said Friday. The system will automatically double the fuel points when they use their VIC card to shop.
The per-gallon savings tops out at $1 for 1,000 fuel points, though customers aren’t limited in the number of fuel points they can earn each month, the retailer noted.
“As fuel prices continue to remain above $4 per gallon, we are focused on providing excellent value for our shoppers and associates,” Danna Robinson, communication manager at Harris Teeter, said in a statement.
The 2X Fuel Points promo launched March 23 and runs through April 5. To receive the double points, shoppers must be an e-VIC member and download an e-VIC digital coupon, available on the e-VIC Coupons page in the ht app or via e-VIC e-mails. Once the digital coupon is clipped, the offer can be redeemed an unlimited number of times during the promotional time frame.
Typically, the Harris Teeter Fuel Points program awards one point for every $1 spent on groceries, 50 points for each $25 spent on eligible retailer gift cards and 50 points for each purchase of non-federally funded prescriptions through Harris Teeter Pharmacy. During the 2X Fuel Points promotion, e-VIC members using the e-VIC digital coupon can earn twice the points. Purchase exclusions include alcohol, gas, gift certificates, lottery, mail-order services, money orders, postage stamps, product deposits (if applicable), promotional tickets, tax, tobacco, Harris Teeter gift cards and all financial variable-load cards like American Express, MasterCard and Visa.
Part of The Kroger Co., Harris Teeter operates approximately 260 supermarkets and 60 fuel centers in North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, Georgia, Maryland, Delaware, Florida and the District of Columbia.
