At the Red Sox game on Sept. 16, Shaw's & Star Market employees presented a check for $500,000 to Boston Children's Hospital on the field of Fenway Park. 2016 was a record-breaking fundraising year for the annual "Give a Smile" campaign that benefits the leading children's hospital in the nation.

The 2016 "Give a Smile" campaign ran from June 1 through July 4.  The program allowed shoppers at Shaw's and Star Market stores throughout New England to donate to Boston Children's Hospital by purchasing "Give A Smile" icons in the amount of $1 or $5.

"We are so grateful for the generosity of Shaw's and Star Market and its customers. It serves as a reminder that when you get a lot of people engaging in seemingly small ways, you can make a tremendous impact," said Carola Cadley, Vice President, Corporate Development and Special Events, Boston Children's Hospital Trust.

"Boston Children's Hospital is an amazing community partner and every day they bring smiles to the faces of children, not only here in New England, but worldwide," said Paul Gossett, President of Shaw's Supermarkets. "I am very proud of the work that our stores did to raise $500,000 and I am also very thankful to all of our customers that supported the Give a Smile campaign."
