SpartanNash offers free online delivery incentive
Fast Lane service promotion runs through February
January 31, 2022
SpartanNash corporate-owned supermarkets are offering free online grocery delivery for Fast Lane orders during February.
The Grand Rapids, Mich.-based grocery distributor/retailer said Monday that all online Fast Lane orders of more than $35 won’t carry a delivery charge starting Feb. 1. The free home delivery promotion will be available for a limited time, with the discount included automatically at checkout.
“As part of SpartanNash’s mission to deliver the ingredients for a better life, we are pleased to offer quick and convenient home delivery for our guests who may be looking to avoid driving during wintry weather conditions or who want to stay safe at home during the pandemic,” Amy McClellan, senior vice president and chief marketing officer at SpartanNash, said in a statement.
SpartanNash noted that Fast Lane personal shoppers stay attuned to customers' product preferences via text messages.
Through Fast Lane, customers may order from any grocery department — including beer, wine and liquor where regulations permit — for the same prices available in-store, SpartanNash said. Orders are picked, packed and delivered by SpartanNash personal shoppers.
SpartanNash noted that Fast Lane shoppers interact directly with customers via text messages to determine preferences such as ripeness of fruit or thickness of steak, as well as to communicate substitutions and out-of-stocks and ask if there are any last-minute products to add to the order. The company said its personal shoppers are trained to select items with the latest expiration date and to inspect all products for integrity.
Overall, SpartanNash owns and operates 145 supermarkets in nine states under the banners Family Fare, Martin’s Super Markets, D&W Fresh Market, VG’s Grocery, Dan’s Supermarket, Family Fresh Market, Forest Hills Foods/Ada Fresh Market, Fresh Madison Market, No Frills, SunMart, Supermercado Nuestra Familia and Dillonvale IGA. The stores are located in Michigan, Nebraska, Indiana, North Dakota, Minnesota, Wisconsin, South Dakota, Iowa and Ohio.
