NORWALK, Conn. — Stew Leonard's, a four-unit, family-owned independent headquartered here, continued a years-long tradition this Thursday, giving thanks to the communities it serves with its 32nd Annual "Turkey Brigade."

In total, the four stores distributed 1,929 turkeys to more than 100 churches, civic groups, housing and nutrition programs for seniors, and to schools in the Norwalk, Newington and Danbury, Conn., and Yonkers, N.Y. communities to help provide Thanksgiving day meals for families in need. The organizations will distribute the turkeys.

Holding turkeys, employees from the company’s Yonkers, N.Y.-location posed at their store to commemorate the company’s annual Thanksgiving donation.
