Located at the intersection of Washington Street and Columbus Drive, the 51,156-square-foot store features art representing the nearby Hudson River and a cool-toned color palette “chosen to provide a sense of calm in the busy neighborhood,” the company said in a press release.

“Jersey City is already home to one of our store support offices, and we know our neighbors and many community members have been anxiously awaiting this opening," said Nicole Davia, senior vice president of operations for Whole Foods Market, in a statement.

The new store features:

  • A specialty department with local products from Lioni Latticini, Inc. and Severino Pasta Company.

  • A curated grocery section with local products from companies such as Paper Plane Coffee Co., CHKP Foods, Naturalvert, Undercover, Black Seed Bagels and Family Farmstead Dairy.

  • A full-service seafood counter with items from Catsmo Artisan Smokehouse, Lund’s Fisheries, Inc. and Lagniappe Foods, Inc.

  • A full-service meat counter with pork from the locally operated Briarwood Cattle Farm, Bilinski’s and Brooklyn Cured.

  • A prepared food section with sushi from Kikka, self-serve hot and salad bars, self-serve pizza, rotisserie chicken and a variety of entrees.

  • A bakery with bread made in-house, along with other Whole Foods-made and locally made items, including Balthazar Bakery, Palazzone 1960 and Angel Bakeries.

  • A beauty and wellness department that features products from local brands such as LUX Naturals, Tiny Kitchen Candle Co. and Bodhi Organics.
