Whole Foods set to open new store in Overland Park, Kansas 2023
The new grocery store from the Amazon-owned grocer will feature more than 750 locally sourced products, including a variety of organic and conventional produce.
Whole Foods Market is opening a new supermarket in Overland Park, Kansas, on Nov. 15, the company announced Wednesday.
The 45791-square-foot store at 11900 Metcalf Ave. is a relocation of an existing Whole Foods at 6621 W. 119th St. The larger footprint store features an upgraded coffee bar, more natural light and greater indoor and outdoor seating capacity, the Amazon-owned grocer noted.
The new store will feature more than 750 locally sourced products, including a variety of organic and conventional produce.
Additional features include:
Gourmet sweets from Andrea’s Confiserie Suisse, Chistopher Elbow Chocolates and Askinosie Chocolate.
A specialty cheese department.
A grocery department with products from Whole Foods’ in-house brand, 365 by Whole Foods, eggs from Campo Lindo Farms, tea from Boernsen Bees and tortillas and tortilla chips from James Beard Award-winning Yoli Tortilleria.
A full-service seafood department with sustainable, wild-caught and responsibly farmed options.
A full-service meat department, featuring grass-fed beef from Redger Farms, chicken from Campo Lindo Farms and lamb from Theos Swallow Fork Ranch.
A selection of more than 150 craft beers with products from local breweries, such as Free State Brewing Company, Fields & Ivy Brewery and Martin City Brewing Company.
An expanded prepared foods section, with sushi from Kikka and hot and cold food bars.
A bakery department that features Whole Foods’ Berry Chantilly Cake and brown butter cookies.
A body care department with products from Two Niles Company, Messner Bee Farms and Fire Lake Soapery.
The grocery chain also announced it is donating a refrigerated van to the food rescue organization NourishKC. The grocer also is donating to Pete’s Garden, which redistributes prepared food to food those in need.
