Panzer replaces Singer as Albertsons' SVP, pharmacy

Mark Panzer has been named SVP of pharmacy and health & wellness for Albertsons. and will oversee the company’s 1,760 pharmacies in 34 states.

Mark Panzer has been named SVP of pharmacy and health and wellness for Albertsons and will oversee the company’s 1,760 pharmacies in 34 states. He replaces Darren Singer, who has left the company to pursue other opportunities, according to parent company AB Acquisition LLC.

Panzer’s retail experience began at Osco Drug stores, more than 40 years ago, where he held roles in regional sales and marketing and regional operations. He subsequently served as VP of sales and marketing for American Drug Stores, and was named SVP of sales and marketing for Albertsons when it merged with American Stores in 1999.

After leaving the company in 2001, Panzer served as EVP of store operations for Rite Aid and four years later was named senior executive VP and CMO for the company. He left in 2008 to become president and CEO of Pharmaca Integrative Pharmacy.
