Albertsons Companies is launching a forecasting tool for its distribution centers via a new offering from tech company Afresh Technologies.

The Boise, Idaho retailer will roll out Afresh DC Forecasts across produce, meat, seafood, deli, and food service for 17 of its distribution centers.

The new AI-powered DC Forecasts is a fresh-specific technology solution for DC buyers that automatically compiles relevant purchasing data.
The forecasting tool considers a wide range of demand drivers critical in fresh, like promotions, store displays, seasonal trends, holidays, and more. Typically, DC buyers spend hours per week synthesizing multiple data sources and manually calculating forecasts. Afresh DC Forecasts automates this process.

Albertsons has partnered with Afresh since 2022. In 2023, Albertsons Cos. expanded its partnership with the company to include other key fresh departments at stores such as meat, seafood, deli, and prepared foods.
