Misfits Market is working with last-mile delivery company Gopuff to make more than 300 items from their inventory available for delivery, the two tech companies announced on Friday.

Misfits provides misshapen and otherwise unsalable items on its online marketplace that are still suitable for consumption. The partnership’s Fresh Grocery initiative will make available a wide variety of perishable items such as fruit, vegetables, dairy, meat, bread, and more.

“Extending our food value supply chain to power Gopuff's fresh grocery expansion gets us one step closer to our vision of reimagining the food system and eradicating food waste,” said Misfits Market Founder and CEO Abhi Ramesh in a press release. "With Gopuff leveraging our sourcing and supplier relationships, together we can provide savings for American consumers who continue to face inflated prices at traditional grocery stores."

Gopuff has tested the service in select markets, and a quarter of orders included Fresh Grocery items, leading to 20% larger baskets and a more than 50% increase in produce, dairy, prepared foods, and meat sales, the company said.

The partnership comes a few months after Misfits launched its Fulfilled by Misfits service, which provides fulfilment for perishable direct-to-consumer brands.
