Food traceability regulations under the Food and Drug Administration’s Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) 204 are less than a year away, and grocery tech company Upshop announced on Tuesday that it has partnered with food traceability network ReposiTrak to help bring food retailers into compliance.

Supermarket News and CSP Daily News caught up with Upshop Chief Marketing Officer Mike Weber and ReposiTrak Chief Customer Officer Derek Hannum at the 2025 National Retail Federation’s Big Show convention in mid-January to learn how their partnership will enable grocers and other retailers to manage food traceability from the supply chain to the store.

Separately, Upshop on Thursday announced the appointment of Chris Renda as chief revenue officer and Patrick Eichen as chief operating officer.

Renda previously served as chief sales officer at sales training firm Richardson Sales Performance, and Eichen served as chief operating officer of Simpleview, a software and tech provider for the tourism industry.
