What doesn’t tech touch within grocery? That’s something our new editor Tim Inklebarger and I have been asking each other lately. And the answer? Basically nothing! Or rather, tech is basically integrated into almost everything grocery related these days.
From retail media networks to digital shelf tags to AI-powered shopping carts…it’s a tech eat tech world…and we’re just living in it. And increasingly reaping the benefits of it.
In our feature this month, Tim breaks down the highlights of what’s new in grocery tech so far this year. Some techie nuggets to look forward to? Amazon is getting into AI-powered smart carts, with the bill charged directly to your Amazon account (how thoughtful of them). In other tech news: In January, Sam’s Club deployed new computer vision tech that checks customers’ receipts against their baskets. And drone delivery is quietly creeping our lives one small delivery at a time.
Be sure to check out Tim’s grocery tech story here. And embrace the technology.
